Alcoholic Beverage Co-Packing From An Industry Leader

Alcoholic beverages come in various packaging formats, each type of alcoholic beverage container is designed to suit the type of drink and its intended use. Glass bottles are the most common packaging for wine, spirits, and many beers. Glass bottles are especially popular for wines and spirits because they offer both protection from light and an aesthetic appeal, making them ideal for displaying premium products. Beer bottles come in different sizes, with 12 oz beer bottles being the most popular size and are often made from brown glass to protect against UV light, which can degrade the flavor. Some beers, especially craft varieties, are packaged in unique bottle shapes or with decorative labels to make them stand out. For spirits like whiskey and vodka, glass bottles often feature intricate designs, and labels are used to convey the drink’s quality, origin, and brand story.

Alcoholic beverages in aluminum cans have become increasingly popular for packaging beer, cider, wine, and ready-to-drink cocktails due to their convenience and portability. Aluminum cans are lightweight, and they offer excellent protection against light and air, which can affect the freshness of the drink. Cans are also recyclable, making them a more sustainable option in many cases. For large volumes, alcoholic beverages are sometimes packaged in bag-in-box containers, often used for wine, beer, and cocktails served at events or bars. These formats allow for easy dispensing and help preserve the drink for longer periods. Alcoholic beverages in cans are not only eco friendly, but they are a safer option than glass at places like pools, beaches and lakes. Each type of alcoholic beverage packaging is chosen to enhance the beverage’s shelf life, convenience, and marketing appeal.

Bag in a Box, Boxed Wine

A bag-in-a-box can be used to package wine products. Bag-in-box (or BiB) wine is wine that is contained in a flexible, air-tight bag inside a cardboard box. The bag has a tap for dispensing the wine. Benefits of bag-in-a-box packaging include: the bag protecting the wine from  light and oxygen, which keeps the alcoholic product fresh for weeks after opening. A bag-in-a-box for wine is easy to transport and lighter than a big glass bottle that could break. The BIB is a much more sustainable packaging option and more eco-friendly.
